Working at Vaasan

Passion for bread

We do good together, it's our bread and butter. We are united by a passion for bread and baking, which is strongly reflected in everything we do. Even though bread is a serious matter for us, we do not have an overly strict attitude towards life. We work seriously, but our everyday life also includes a lot of humour and fun. We can overcome challenging situations with cooperation and a solution-oriented attitude.

What is it like to work in Vaasan? Ask anyone in Vaasan and we believe that they will speak warmly about our company and their colleagues. We have a friendly and open work atmosphere where everyone is respected and helped.

Everyday work in line with values every day

Our values guide our daily work and act as our inner compass. They guide us in how we treat each other and how we take responsibility as individuals and as a company.

Openness is the ability to adapt to changes in an open operating environment where trust, transparency, cooperation and communication are valued.

Dynamism is activity, initiative and the ability to see challenges as an opportunity to develop both on a personal and corporate level.

A holistic view is an understanding that each employee's personal contribution affects the success of our business, and that our products and services have an impact on society and people's everyday lives.

We have 500 managers

It may sound funny when we say that we have 500 leaders. We see it that way because we cherish everyday life where everyone can make decisions and at least lead themselves.

Every Vaasan resident has access to a number of leadership tools that help us act in everyday situations. The tools are ways of thinking, attitudes and operating models that help us develop our common culture.

Good leadership is crucial to achieving our goals. Through leadership, we also strengthen a values-aligned, open and creative culture where teams are efficient and employees can perform well and grow. Through training, we help our supervisors to be good leaders.

Guiding stars help in good leadership

Based on our values, six guiding principles have been developed:

  1. Grow talent
  2. Will to win
  3. Drive performance
  4. Develop yourself
  5. Involve and inspire
  6. Be brave

Guiding stars accompany us in our everyday activities, for example, when we recruit new employees, evaluate success at work or organise management-related training.
