Bread smelling work in the dispatch room

In the dispatch centre work, you can concretely see the imprint of your own hand here and now, when the bread is collected in boxes and put in order to be sent to the shops.

What is it like to work in the dispatch centre?

In dispatch work, you don't sit in front of a computer from eight to four! There is a lot of movement at work, and we mainly work in the evenings and at night to get wonderful fresh bread for the shops in the morning. The dispatch centre ensures that the finished bread packages can be sent to stores according to customer orders, from where they end up on the tables of Finns. The job title can be, for example , picker, palletizer or shelf. About 100 people work in the dispatch centres in Vaasan.

Dispatch work is available at our bakeries in Tammisto, Kuusankoski and Kiiminki in Vantaa.

Healthy and safe – everyone, every day, everywhere

In terms of health and well-being, our goal is clear: we want every Vaasan resident to leave work at the end of the day in at least as good a condition as when they arrived at work. Our starting point is to provide employees with a healthy and safe working environment that aims to prevent the occurrence of occupational accidents and diseases.

Our goal is that by 2030, health and safety processes, management and operations will have been raised to an excellent level. To achieve these goals, we are implementing Lantmännen Unibake's strategic Health and Safety programme.

Four reasons to choose Vaasan

1. Warm culture

Openness, mutual appreciation and friendliness. These are the foundation of our good workday. At Vaasan, you will be part of a super nice team that is always ready to help and support your development. You can turn to anyone – we don't have closed doors or a hierarchical organization. .

2. We invest in the well-being, growth and development of our employees

The comprehensive well-being and competence development of the people of Vaasan are matters close to our hearts. We regularly organise training for our employees on topics such as occupational safety, supervisory work, self-management and baking technology. The foundation of well-being is built on occupational health care that covers more than the basic level and our well-being offering, which includes various tools, services and benefits (e.g. sports and culture benefits). Employees have the opportunity to utilise mental well-being support services as part of occupational health care.

3. We bake Finns' favourite breads

We are proud of our long baking tradition and our roots. We have a competitive and constantly developing product range, which includes several long-time favorites, starting with Vaasan Ruispalot, as well as interesting novelties. Vaasan is the right place if you want to be involved in almost every Finn's food moments through our breads and secure our country's food supply.

4. We have the heart of a small bakery, but the responsibility of a large bakery

We take responsibility for the climate and environmental impacts of our products from field to fork, and we have set measurable goals for this work in both the short and long term. Wholegrain bread, in particular, is a healthy and climate- and nature-friendly choice to fill a grumpy stomach now and in the future – as part of a planetary diet.
